It is with deep regret that I report the death of Susan James a member of police staff at Rose Road Police Station F2 OCU. Sue worked in the Customer Service Centre as a RAD and Auditor and has been a member of West Midlands Police staff for 20 years. Prior to joining West Midlands Police; between 1982 and 2003 she worked as a Special Constable rising to the rank of District Officer. All of her service, Police Staff and Special Constabulary, has been on the F cluster policing area. Sue has fought a long and courageous battle against the effects of Motor Neurone Disease, the effects of which finally took her life yesterday. We know that Sue died peacefully at home with her family by her side. Anybody that knew Sue would be touched by her positive outlook, determination and her ability to think of others, despite her personal situation. She remained at work until very recently and will be sadly missed by her family, friends and colleagues. Chief Superintendent, F2 OCU Commander
